Restorative Design Workshop (one-day)

If your community, redevelopment agency, or redevelopment/design firm wants to get on the leading edge of integrated restoration, this is the quickest way to do it.  In just one day--using a real project of your choosing--your team will learn how to use our Asset Integration Guide.  It's best to focus the day on a particular restoration project--brownfield, historic, infrastructure, urban stream, etc.--so that you learn by doing, and significantly enhance the revitalizing value of that to the neighborhood, the community, and/or the region.

This one-day workshop does double-duty, being an intense learning experience for your designers, planners, and policymakers, while simultaneously serving to greatly enhance the value of a particular project that your community is considering, or that your firm is bidding on.

Number of Attendees: 12 or fewer attendees is ideal, but up to 24 is possible, if necessary.

Cost: $12,000 (for up to 24 participants), plus travel costs for the faculty. In some cases, the Guest Experts on your faculty will pay their own travel expenses if they come from for-profit firms.  This is on a case-by-case basis, and you have the final say over which experts are recruited (see the paragraph below for more on Guest Experts.)

  • Projects enrolled by organizations within one of our 3 Networks receive a 10% tuition discount.

  • Sorry: The Network Member tuition discount and the Pilot Program tuition discount cannot be combined.

Faculty: The Design Workshop faculty comprises one instructor from Revitalization Institute's staff, plus up to three Guest Experts (if desired) from organizations in Revitalization Institute's 3 Networks. We will recruit those Guest Experts for you, based on your needs.  For instance: If the area in which your project is located has significant brownfields, historic buildings, and infrastructure challenges, your three guest experts will be chosen accordingly.  In a more rural setting, the three key issues might be watershed restoration, farmland restoration, and ecosystem restoration.
